Our Grade 3-6 students were taught the fine skills of drawing from sketching artist, Ben Gilliana. Students learnt the different shades of pencils, techniques of drawing, sketching and shading, and also had plenty of opportunity to practice these skills. Ben left his audience in awe as he concluded the incursion by gifting the students pencil packs used by professional artists

2016 Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge

The 2016 Challenge is now open.

The Premiers' Reading Challenge encourages children to read a set number of books and record their efforts online. It's a great way to get young people talking about reading with their friends and pushing themselves to read as many books as they can. Visit the following link for more details:

School and Healthy Eating

School is a time when children start to make independent choices about their lifestyles. School aged children learn quickly and are influenced by friends and popular trends. This is an important time to talk about and encourage healthy food habits. Involving children in planning and preparing their own lunchboxes gives them the opportunity to learn about healthy eating, and also gives them a chance to make autonomous decisions about what they will be eating during the day.

MOTHERS DAY STALL!

The Sirius College Primary Parents Club (PPC) held its annual Mothers Day stall and overall it was a fantastic day! All students were given the opportunity to purchase beautiful gifts such as magnets, photo frames, soaps, notebooks, animated face washers, bath bombs and mugs with chocolates. They were all so beautifully presented.

We would like to thank everyone at home who purchased and supported the event. Special thanks go to the parents who assisted with the stall on both days. I would also like to thank teachers and aides who assisted students with their purchases and ensured both days ran smoothly.

Thank you
